Welcome to Bead Soup Saturday! First a reminder of what my partner Hilary from
Fryestyle sent to me. A beautiful silver floral focal, some additional silver accent beads & some really pretty lampwork in Spring colours. She rounded out the soup w/ some dyed horn squares, green glass leaves & some tiny little glass flowers. A simple silver S hook is the clasp.
Here is a close~up of the focal.
I did add a few beads from my
hoard stash. The frosted 'grape~y' bead is by the talented Sue of
suebeads. I was lucky enough to be Sue's partner in a swap last summer & I have become a big fan of her work(you owe it to yourself to check out her enameled headpins!). She had sent 2 frosted purple beads in light & dark & they were perfect w/ this mix. I also added some solid colour lampwork beads by
J C Herrell. I discovered her last summer when I saw her glass toggles. These are some of her spacers in green & purple.
Above is a pewter heart I won from the uber talented
Llyynn . This was a new design for her, a headpin w/ an extra long pin. I really felt like it went w/ the feel of the prettiness of the whole mix. You can also see the green pearls I added to my soup.
The finished soup.
I am currently intrigued w/ double wrap bracelets that can also be worn as a necklace, so I wanted to try that for my soup.
I want to thank
Lori once again for putting all this together. I also have to apologise for not having the link list, but I waited 'til the last minute to try & post it & I was unsuccessful. Enjoy your hopping & thanks for stopping by!

wow, this is so gorgeous! Green and purple is one my fav color combos and this has my mouth watering :)
ReplyDeleteSuch a gorgeous, floral-themed necklace/bracelet - love how you've made it multi-functional!
ReplyDeleteLove the colors. I'm wishing for lilac shrubs in the front yard now (they won't grow in AZ). I love multipurpose jewelry too. I have many pieces that I make that can rearrange into other configurations. I like that uniqueness about your piece.
ReplyDeleteOh, that's really, really pretty. I'm big on whatever it;s called when you make little bead headpins and feed them on in a bunch between beads like you did here, so I'm esp loving that aspect. I've never had any luck making a 16-inch necklace that doubles into a bracelet without the two strands changing length so that one is much longer than the other. Do you know a trick I don't? (And you well may, as I'm almost completely self-taught.)
ReplyDeleteLove your double wrap bracelet! The colors remind me of summer flowers! Awesome design:)
ReplyDeleteJust gorgeous! Such a wonderful color combo, perfect for spring!

ReplyDeleteI dropped by to see what you made!
& to tell you that I am not yet sure which size of the bezel we are all going to get! I have to find a happy medium for everyone! I think it might be $50.00 for 1 thousand pieces if we get the ones closest to an inch.
