It's time! Reveal for the 8th Bead Soup Blog Hop. I'm proud to say I've been a part of the BSBH since the first one, this is my 7th. My partner is Jeaanne Billeci Steck , & here is the beautiful beachy soup she sent. She found & wrapped the sea glass. The blue piece is the soup focal & the white w/copper is an extra. Also included were carnelian, 2 kinds of pearls, some lapis, copper & some truly divine little crystals in a milky/opal~y sort of colour. Jeanne also made some findings & earwires in silver . This is the only shot of everything I took, then it went straight to the bead table. So, no nicely styled soup in a clever container.
details |
This was wrapped as a pendant, but you know me & my bracelets. Sari silk wraps 3 times around my wrist & a self loop catches the horn bead I put in the bail.So summery!
detail of closure
Once again, Thank You so much to our hostess Lori Anderson. We all know this was a difficult year for you & having this party took a lot of time, effort & concentration that you didn't always have in endless supply.
Thank You to Jeanne, the beads were beatiful & I hope you think I did them justice. Last but not least, Thanks for stopping by, enjoy your hop, don't forget to stay hydrated , "Soup's a marathon, not a sprint"!

Beautiful designs. I really love the Blue wrap.
ReplyDeleteWonderful bracelet. The sea glass looks fantastic with the silk, and it's such an imaginative use for a pendant.
ReplyDeleteLove your pieces! The knotting is so very nice and I love that wrap sari bracelet too!
ReplyDeleteRachel
OH! You were gifted wire-wrapped sea glass!!! How wonderful, and what you made with them is truly beautiful. I like how you created a more earthy mix of colors and textures with the white piece and the blue is stunning in your chosen silk color and fabulous toggle closure! Thank you for visiting my party post!
ReplyDeleteJayne - I love what you did with my beach glass and beads! So different (and so much better) than what I would have done. The bracelet with the silk ribbon is amazing! I never would have considered that. I hope Mom loves the lapis and crystal bracelet ~ so beautiful with the knotted cord. I'm definitely going to try that! And I love the way the earthy beads from your stash make the white glass pop! Hope to see you on-line more. I enjoyed our swap!
ReplyDeleteGreat job Jayne! love the second necklace, just my colors
ReplyDeleteLove how you've combined materials. Beautiful work!
ReplyDeletefabric bracelet is my fav! congrats!
ReplyDeleteJayne, everything is wonderful that you created! I especially like the necklace and the way you mixed it up! Very organic! :)
ReplyDelete"Soup's a marathon and not a sprint" -- haha, so true! Lovely pieces. I love how you use fabric!
ReplyDeleteAbsolutely love how you used the beach glass focals, gorgeous work.
ReplyDeleteOh wow ! Lapis and opalite is one of my favorite color combos ! It just pops ! Love all the sea glass too :)
ReplyDeletelove, love the sari bracelet! great use of horn bead :-)
ReplyDeleteBeautiful! So nice to meet another "knotter" in BSBP. Your necklace with the white pendant is my favorite, I love the colors and the way you use one strand - two strands - chain construction.
ReplyDeleteThank you for leaving a nice comment in my blog!
Lovely pieces!
ReplyDeleteLove your work. Lapis and opalite are delicious together!!
ReplyDeletekathy
Love the way you worked with the sea glass! that blue piece is stunning and not often found , a real treasure!!
ReplyDeleteI love your bracelet, perfect color...
ReplyDeleteBeautiful designs!! Your wrap bracelet is so clever and fun!
ReplyDeleteI'm with you—I always keep my challenge pieces—I become too attached to them, not to mention that they usually are made up of art beads and I can never bring myself to part with them once they're in my possession! ;-) Love all the pieces you made, especially the bracelet for your mom—opalite is one of my favorites! Beautifully done!
ReplyDeleteLove the Lapis and it's perfect for mom being that it is a stone of wisdom ( moms are always wise! )
ReplyDeleteLove the asymmetric necklace! I'm seeing more and more if this technique and can't wait to try it !

So beautiful! I love the bracelet and the contrast of the green cord you used! The necklace is gorgeous - similar colors, asymmetrical and the front part where the bail is hanging is of different texture and adds a lot of interest! I pinned the bracelet - stunning!
