7000 Bracelets for Hope hop

Welcome all, happy Saturday! This is the second time I have made blue bracelets for this cause & I have to say, it always stretches me. I'm not a 'blue person'. I have a pair of jeans but that is it for the blue in my wardrobe. As for jewelry? I just don't really use or wear blue. Even w/ turquoise as my birthstone I lean towards the green spectrum of that stone. That being said I had a lot of fun w/ the first bracelet. I gathered all the blues I had in a bead mix & strung them on memory wire until I had used them all for a total of four wraps. I love the look of a really full memory wire bracelet. My second bracelet uses sand cast African beads & wooden beads w/ a copper clasp. I think this has a more rugged feel to it.The last shot is some blue beads that I pushed around my tray all week & came up w/ nothing. I'm going to have a drawing from the comments left below & maybe you can think of a design. This is a list of the bloggers in the hop, Thanks for stopping by!

  1. These are great~very casual and comfy feel to them! Those sand cast beads are fantastic! I use turquoise a lot, but a true blue intimidates me. I don't buy many, but they seem to show up in my stash anyway. Love your giveaway idea~then someone gets to make a bonus bracelet.
    Thanx so much for Hopping!

  4. For someone who doesn't work with blue, you did a great job. I made a memory bracelet for the last 7000 bracelets hop, and I agree with you, it's a great way to show the beads. I really love the second bracelet. I think it will show her that she has the toughness to survive life's difficulties. Great job!!

  7. Your second design is particularly beautiful. The African beads are gorgeous and really pop against the wood, bringing the blue color to forefront. I think you may not be giving yourself enough credit....looks to me like you know exactly how to use blue!

  15. For a non-blue person - you did a wonderful job! Love both bracelets - they are fun and happy. The ones you 'pushed around' - I can see some wire work with them, with copper or silver :)

  18. If I had your aversion to blue, there's be nothing in my closet to wear!! ;)
Anyway, blue aversion or not, you really did a great job with this project. I'm partial to the second bracelet for some reason, but they are both sure to bring a smile to the faces of the recipients.

  20. I think both of your blue bracelets are very beautiful and will bring their recipients great joy. I just start working with blues myself about 6 months ago and actually like working with the color. Your blue beads would go great in a multi strung necklace. They are very nice.
